DEPARTMENT OF TRADE AND INDUSTRY – CAGAYAN PROVINCIAL OFFICE
The Department of Trade and Industry – Cagayan Provincial Office through its Investment Promotion Unit of the Business Development Division (BDD) is intensifying its investment promotion efforts through the application of information technology and digital media resources as means of promoting the investment opportunities and business initiatives of the province.
In line with this, one of the identified strategies is the development of an Investment Information System (IIS) for the province of Cagayan. Through this system, potential investors could look for investment opportunities in the province through the comparison of investment-related information of different and identified Local Government Units (LGUs) who have initially submitted an investment factsheet in 2019. This system is embedded in a website and/or mobile application that can be accessed through a Personal Computer and/or an android phone.
MESSAGE FROM THE REGIONAL DIRECTOR
Cagayan is a beautiful province endowed with rich biodiversity, interesting topography and talented people. These among others are what make the province a great place to invest in. With its wide expanse of agricultural and industrial lands, the Province has positioned itself as a major producer of high value crops and a commercial growth center. Among the crops that are abundant in the province are rice, corn, banana, sugarcane, coconut, pineapple, mango, cacao, and peanut. Real estate, renewable energy, logistics and tourism-related ventures are also becoming popular investment areas in the province.
With the many opportunities the province can offer, the government envisions it as a major investment and tourism hub in North Philippines and a trading post to neighboring regions, particularly East Asia. This is supported by big infrastructure projects including the opening of the Claveria Port, the upgrading of the Cagayan Economic Zone in Sta. Ana to include the establishment of an international airport and the revival of the Aparri Port.
This Investment Information System serves as a central source of relevant, reliable and up-to-date data and information related to the investment landscape of the Province of Cagayan. It serves as a potent tool in the Image Building, Investment Marketing, Generation and Servicing activities of the agency.
We encourage all investors to explore your chances in the province as we altogether make Cagayan a Premier Investment Destination in North Philippines!
