
Pamplona, officially the Municipality of Pamplona (Ibanag: Ili nat Pamplona; Ilocano: Ili ti Pamplona; Tagalog: Bayan ng Pamplona), is a 4th class municipality in the province of Cagayan, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 23,596 people.
Pamplona is situated at the Northwestern part of Cagayan. It is bounded on the North by the Babuyan Channel, on the Northwest by the Municipality of Sanchez Mira, on the South by the Province of Apayao and on the East by the Municipality of Abulug.
Generally, the municipality has much land to offer for agricultural pursuits, which means, that it has a terrain that is dominantly plain except for a few places where there are forested mountains and hilly areas.
Out of the total land area of Pamplona, 6,384.32 has. or 37.17% is plain or flat to nearly flat level and 1,672.94 has. or 9.74% nearly level to gently sloping or undulating.
Pamplona has a total population of 23,596 based on the 2015 PSA census. Its population composition is characterized by a generation of younger age where inhabitants aged ranging from 0-24 years.
Pamplona is envisioned as the agro-eco tourism destination of Northern Cagayan. Thus, the Tourism office has to align its 7- point Agenda to the LGUs main thrust inclined towards NAREGTA a Pamplona as follows:
